Flushing problems
I’m in Davenport , Iowa and am experiencing intermittent problems with getting the toilet to flush, when I press the button it seems like it is only making a partial contact and starts to flush then stops. I have found by turning the water pump off then on it sometimes resolves itself. So, a couple of questions; does anyone know what brand this toilet is ? Any thoughts on cause or corrections ? Any place around me for repair ?

The toilet works as long as you have good water system pressure, the water pump kicks on to provide the contiued flow and pressure, and the timer that is part of the push button switch circuitry holds the flush valve open long enough to evacuate the bowl.
The switch and the timer trips a solenoid in the flush valve that holds the diaphragm in the flush valve open for a short duration. If it doesn’t hold it open long enough (usually a few seconds) some on here have bypassed the timer and allowed just applying pressure on the switch for a while to provide the time necessary to flush.
But no Headhunter toilet will flush well unless the water flow is fast and of sufficient volume.

Thanks Jon , I had the city water valve in the wrong position and am thinking that had something to do with it although it was working fine before, ordered the timer and button to be safe

I am not familiar with how Vantare set their Headhunter up with respect to the proximity of the accumulator tank, and the pump. City water generaly will work if it is of sufficient pressure, has the needed flow volume and the accumulator tank is almost directly in line with the flush valve. That is so hit and miss I think most converters that use the Headhunter toilet also use the Headhunter pump and recommend the use of the pump at all times.

I have the exact same setup in our coach, which is a Vantare. Have found very few places where water pressure/volume is good enough to flush correctly. I just use the water pump and no problems.

What Kim says. We only use the water supply to fill tank and always use the pump. We turn pump off when not in the bus for any length of time. Geo.

as it turns out you are all mostly right, it seems the pump was the culprit….ironically just replaced original pump as a prophylactic exercise ( no good deed goes unpunished ) with a Mach V…..seems it was shutting down intermittently ….may have been related to the city water valve in wrong position…
