Flashing Check Engine & Stop Engine Light
I have a 05 H3 Featherlite 2 weeks ago in traffic idling & rolling at 5-15 mph for a 40min, I noticed my check engine light flashing, 2 flashes then a pause then 5 flashes, then the STOP Engine did the same thing, it continued until the traffic moved and I accelerated again I drove another 400 miles before I stopped and when I stopped flashing started again turned off the engine checked my fluids everything was good the next morning started up again and they flashed again until I accelerated. I’ve had the mobile guy from Detroit Orlando look at it and cant Find anything wrong checked with Prevo in Jacksonville and they said it has to be Detroit they’ve never heard of flashing check engine and stop engine lights do in the 2-5. It only happens when the egnition key is on and when stopped a a traffic light, it stops when I accelerate. ?? HELP

2 flashes then 5 flashes = code 25 = “No Codes”
Excerpt from DDEC manual below.
To read codes, use the diagnostic data reader or depress and hold the diagnostic request switch with the ignition ON, engine at idle or not running. Active codes will be flashed on the SEL. Inactive codes will be flashed on the CEL. The cycle will repeat until the operator releases the diagnostic request switch. Flash codes, descriptions, and SAE faults are listed in Table 5-1.
CEL = Check Engine Light
SEL = Stop Engine Light
Maybe… the “diagnostic request switch” is on??????

Thank you, good tip. I’m thinking the over ride switch is activating its self to turn on, because I haven’t touched it. So maybe I’m hoping its just a bad switch. I’m at TradeWinds RV in Deland for them to check it.

Recently had strange flashing CEL and SEL. See posts under Chassis. Boateral chimed in and gave good advice. Agree, however, very unsettling. I took Al’s advice and called Prevost Pass and they hooked me up almost instantaneously with a DD guy who was very knowledgeable. The 25 code generally means everything ok. Have you checked flash codes with bus engine off and just key on? Mike
