  • First Campground Setup

Posted by Archived on November 25, 2012 at 12:29 pm

Ok , So We took the Coach to work with Us last week and setup in a campground that was 2 miles from the Motel that We had Our Employees lodged in. Had three rooms rented there. And I was happy not to have had to rent a fourth for The Wife and I like We have done in the past several times. Even though We have stayed there so long that all the employees know Us by first name, And treat Us like Family. I really enjoyed staying in the Coach in the Campground and sleeping on My own sheets and sitting on My Own Throne ! Priceless !!! . Just a much better atmosphere ! I had My Bicycle along that I managed to ride a few times. And had the wifes EXT for Running to Restaurants , Store and work. There were always multiple Squirrels to watch playing. Lots of big old trees, and a pond out the front windows made for a nice view. I had purchased a 8′ x 20′ Mat to go under the awning that I had not used up to this point, Which worked out pretty good except for the boulder sized gravel that I neglected to move before putting down. ( * Visually inspect , and remove large stones in future ) The outdoor entertainment center and Grill were awesome ! And both worked well. After setting up in one camp site only to find out that Our TV would not come in due to all the trees. So , Moved to another site ( Leave TV on when pulling into site in the future ! ) We had Our crews over for a Gathering and Dogs , Brats and Burgers and a camp fire one evening. And the Outdoor Grill is priceless ! ( Need some Grease catcher Jars ! ) I just placed a ceramic plate on the Mat to catch the drippings. I also need to look at the elevation of the Dump hook up in the future. Our Coach set so low that the Hookup was slightly up Hill. Which did not work very good with a small leak in My Discharge Valve. ( Replace Soon ! ) I had to pull around in a vacant site that was slightly up hill to Dump. I also made a trip to a RV place down the road and purchased a Dump Hose fitting that has a Water hose nipple on it , So Now I can leave My Gray water By-Pass open and not fill the holding tank so fast. Also learned to CHOOSE A PRETTY LEVEL SITE !!! The second one was great ! The first , Coach would not level ! We stayed 5 nights , And the only thing I regret , Is not having one years ago !

There were several overnight campers that would pull in late in the evening. And be gone the next day. One gentleman pulled into the site next to Us in a 2005 Zephyr , 45′ with 4 Slides Towing a Beautiful Red H2. He just loved the outdoor Grill setup, And the Bay doors, And the Prevost in General. He said ” Thats one of the GOOD ones ” And ” Man You have done a lot of work to that thing ” Where it was so shiny! I had Blue Beacon wash it a few days before, And I had dried off all the Stainless with a Chamois to eliminate water spots which took about 45 Minutes. Was all that I had done. He just kept looking at it and Making comments ! I said , You will never guess what Year this thing is. He said , ” Why it looks Brand New ” He was very surprised when I told Him it was a 1996 ! And of course He ask How Much do those things cost ? I told Him that He could probably get one like this in the neighborhood of 125K-150K range. I bet He had that much in His Zephyr ? I have a feeling that He will be looking at Prevost’s . Another Gent said that it looked like there was a Rock Star staying there ! LOL, I love My Prevost !!!
