Fireplace
I tried to search ‘fireplace’ but nothing came up.
Do any of you have the fireplace option? I’m intriged by the option as it actually puts out heat (from what it advertised). I’ve seen it located behind the driver’s seat on the H3-45.

Amen to that. The fake fireplaces are part of the option package that includes Chinese lanterns for the awnings and a map of the US to show the states visited. As incentive to buy that option it includes the bumper sticker that says “We are spending our children’s inheritance”.

I’m surprised that it hasn’t been asked yet about the lack of a ladder, so that you have a place to tie on another ladder.

What’s next, a ladder bolted to the rear cap so you can bungie tie your bicycles, folding chairs and a step ladder to it??

Mr.Mark, Sorry I missed seeinng you on Sunday. The fireplace bus we saw last week was in an Emerald-Prevost display coach
If you are still here (Indio) you might check with Transwest as to where the bus is parked. On one of the pictures taken the other day in the large group posted here it shows the fire place equiped bus. The picture is not clear showing the fireplace under the TV,
Try enlaring for better detail, it will at least show you how Emerald used the space.

I guess that would be more evidence that I am a plastic coach Prevost owner. I replaced the desk in the living room with a desk / fireplace combo. It opened up additional space in our non-slide bus, looks good and the extra warmth on the cold days is very nice. It’s been used neary everyday since we installed it at the end of last year.
I guess that was Emerald Coach was thinking when they installed the fireplace in their Prevost conversion.

I have a fireplace with a fire going right now. It burns wood.
Everything else is pretend.

I see the fireplace ?? then plastic coach referance!! then wonder —why that comment….? I use new inverter technology in my hvac. How many of you can take your 10F coach to 70 F in a hour on 20amps@120 volts? Big differance in type of heat put out if firelpace is radiant vs heatpump.. So who is stuck in a rut? I don’t have a fireplace in the bus but if I did it would be because I like that kind of heat and look… I did try a catalatic heat source during construction(lp) and it produced to much condensate which would have to been addressed… Always looking Foward…. The Marathon that we looked at has a ladder stored in the bay along with four matching Marathon folding chairs. The ladder was the bi-fold type. The MSRP on that coach was $2.2.

The reason why I ask about the fireplace is that while we were in Las Vegas it was in the upper 30’s at night, mid 50’s during the day. We use a small electric heater which works well. At night, I did use the Aqua-Hot and it kept the whole coach nice and toasty.
I did see the picture of the fireplace in the Emerald coach. But, somewhere, I saw either a Marathon, Liberty or Millennium with a fireplace behind the driver’s seat (I would want the salon area in the front, not the middle). The fireplace seemed to fit perfectly in that location and I think it’s something we would use to knock the chill off of the room.
I’ve never seen one in person or how well they work, that’s why I’m asking.

Mr M, if I were in the market for a new motorhome I’d look at what these guys have to offer, http://floridacoach.com/, look at their star/motorhomes. Unlike me, you don’t need bunks, but I’m sure these folks will build anything you like and even a fireplace if you wish, plus they seem to be priced much more reasonably than the big three and even lower than Emerald. (maybe there’s more economy of scale in the entertainer world, or more competition keeping the margins lower). Now I’m going to ask a stupid question, how is yours powered? Is it electric or propane? If electric, how do they make the artifical flames?

I have another question….. somewhat related.
How many of you have the heated floors? If so, do you like them and would you order them again?

It is electric and puts out the same or more heat than the little portables I used for this space. The fireplace flames are somewhat of a hologram looking display. The logs and embers glow and the flame is moving. It certainly doesn’t look like a real fire but the feel is very comfortable and the heat keeps us from needing to run the Webasto all the time.
