Fire extinguisher..
Well, now I know how to use our coach fire extinguisher. This past Sunday we were driving up the I-75 in north Florida when I saw some dirt/dust being stirred up on the south side. A SUV was losing control and almost flipped over but ran into the guard rail crushing the front of the Chevy Trailblazer.
During this event (it seemed like slow motion), the lady in the back seat flew out of the door window. I can still see in my head her arms reaching out as she is flying through the air. She landed on the pavement and never moved again. People ran up to help and comfort her. I don’t know her condition.
We stopped immediately pulling off into the emergency lane. Craig called 911 and was the first call to come in the guy said. I ran out and saw that the Chevy was starting to burn. Many people were stopped at this point. I didn’t see anyone trying to spray the engine so I ran and got the extinguisher from behind the passenger seat and ran over to spray the engine area.
I have never used one before but managed to get it working. The fire was going pretty well at this point mainly confined to the engine area. My small extinguisher was like putting a drop of water on it. I needed 20 of them to make any kind of difference. It did slow the flames at the windshield and a little at the engine but then the container was empty.
These things are only good for a very small fire. I think I’m going to buy a bigger one to keep in the bay.
It was awful to see that accident happen right in front of us. If I had a dash cam, I would have the whole thing recorded.

Mark good call and good job , I have five big ones inside bus and one in every bay outside just in case and one beside the bed just in case
