Fire alarm
Need some help, sitting at camp sight in New Mexico, had a camp fire going in front of the bus and about 2 hours later the fire detection system in the bus triggered and the alarm started to sound and have the fire detection indication on the dash illuminated. Checked the engine bay and all over the bus and there is no fire or evidence of any fire or over heating so I thought the campfire smoke may have triggered it. I need help in understanding how to reset the system to get the alarm to shut off and indication cleared. 2001 Marathon H3-45 with DD60.
update, to stop the alarm tonight I ended up cutting the wire. Will need to look at it again in the am
believe I fixed the issue. Wet down the two sensors in the engine bay and the two sensors behind front bumper last night. Reconnected the alarm this morning and it is silent and there is no fire detection indication on the dash display.

I’ll add to what Tom is saying………some engine compartment fire sensors are susceptible to moisture so if you are washing your engine area or maybe even driving in a deluge that can set the alarm off on some coaches.

So tell me guys, I have noticed the detector myself but never touched the thing…….is it a photocell or a sensor-responder. By that I mean does it detect only a BLAZE (photocell) or does it detect temperature? Seems to me that the later would be preferred. Finally, and I probably can already answer this with a NO, is this a part of any service check, to verify correct and proper operation?
