Fenders – Rubber or Fiberglass?
Hi All –
The fenders on my 1981 Le Mirage are stainless. The left rear fender is missing the rearmost two sections. The fenders are very dated looking and I would like to replace them with more modern looking fenders. My questions…. Are the fenders from the various years interchangeable? In other words, would the fenders from a 1998 XL fit my 1981 Le Mirage? Also, what are your opinions on rubber fenders versus fiberglass fenders. The fenders will be black, so the ability to paint them is not a concern.

WE have rubber fenders on this coach, a 1992. 2 past coaches, a 1999 shell and 2001 shell both had fiberglass ones. We rather have the rubber ones for several reasons.
1) running chains in the winter, the rubber ones withstand a bit more abuse and not show it.
2)the rubber ones tend to flex, the fiberglass ones if they flex enough crack and craze their paint
