  • Favorite Florida RV Parks

We are looking for your favorite Florida RV Parks to spend 1-3 months in during the winter. We are towing a Jeep at this time, but considering moving to a trailer.

    Thanks for your insight,

Plenty of good rv parks across florida from top to bottom. Depends on what you are looking for will make a difference on what is a good recommendation.

As for the trailer, if you are planning on keeping the jeep, couple.things to keep in mind. With a 3.5″ lift on 35’s you need a taller then standard interior. At least 7′ interior height. Of you have wheel spacers, you will be too wide to fit between wheel wells.

Also need to think about the weight and if the jeep can move it. Not all places have pads large enough to handle 70+ feet of coach/trailer. And not all places have the ability to deal with your trailer if you need to drop it. Always good to have the ability to be self sufficient if needed.

Not a well known place, but in silver springs, check out wilderness rv resort. Preserve section has big lots. Heated pool, hot tub. Close to silver river (can launch kayak from resort). On the Ocala forest. Lots of off road trails to explore with the jeep. Central in state, an hour to either coast. Near Jacksonville, orlando, gainsville, tampa areas.

Thanks Charles for the Florida information.

The trailer question is still open. But, I am thinking about an open trailer. I don’t have spacers and measure 78 inches wide, so should be able to load without removing fenders. The trailer I am interested in is 81 inches between the wheels I think I could move the trailer ( under 2k ) with the Jeep. Definitely more work with a trailer for all the reasons you mentioned, plus I would be over the legal limit in Missouri. 65 foot max. But, that does not seem to be a concern of anyone towing a long trailer.

    Thanks again,

    Roy

I hope you find the park of your dreams…I love Florida… however I am very curious as to why you would want an open trailer ?

    Cheers, Diane

If I have a trailer I don’t want to crawl in and out of the Jeep when loading/unloading. Enclosed trailer look hard to die down the Jeep also.
