Fatal Accident in S. Carolina-Diesel Pusher
Posted to RV Crashes and Disasters on Facebook today. Looks like a red engine. Looks like it was pulling an closed trailer. This is the second fatal accident of a large Class A I’ve seen posted to Facebook in the past three weeks. Other was near Nashville or Chattanoga.
From the photographer: All I could see. I don’t have anymore information. I-95 north South Carolina exit 77/78. Doesn’t look good.

DORCHESTER, S.C. (WCBD) – The SC Highway Patrol on Friday responded to a fatal collision involving a motorhome on I-95 near mile marker 77.
According to SCHP, the driver of the motorhome was traveling north on I-95 around 11:45 a.m. Friday when it ran off of the exit ramp, went down into an embankment, struck a tree, and overturned.
Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts and were entrapped following the collision.
The driver was airlifted to the hospital and the passenger died at the scene.
No further details were immediately available.

Terrible. Hate to see this. Prevosst? Cannot imagine it would have this level of destruction. Still, what a terrible thing for they and their families.
I just came back from Oak Island, North Carolina. I saw all kinds of fifth wheels, but did not see one Prevost owned private coach.

Over the years we have seen the results of accidents, RVs, trailers, and commercial buses including Prevost and other makes such as MCI.
I have seen Prevost coaches suffering substantial damage, but I have never seen one come apart. The chassis may get twisted or torn by something the coach hits, but it stays together. To the extent possible the occupants still are within and protected by the chassis structure.
But I have seen conventional RV accidents in which the RV literally was disassembled. I will never forget coming on our first RV accident shortly after we bought our first coach. For hundreds of feet we saw parts and pieces of what used to be an RV. When we came upon the chassis structure there was nothing left on it.
We owners benefit greatly by having a structure around us. To us there is a comfort in knowing when the dust settles our coach may be totaled but that it remains intact and provides some level of protection.

Bought a Salvage Stickes&staples Damon intruder Motorhome(1997) had slipped in ditch and was totaled.I said slipped! not flipped! gutted it for a friend as all the basic were there for bus conversion.$2000. air heat water heaters gen set all good. My sil was a state trooper. they called one wrecker for bus accident .. called many for sticks & staples plus low boys for trash. From what I have seen this is a true fact..
