Changing oil in fan gear box, and had hard time finding Syn oil ISO VG 634, Prevost had it for $75.00 a quart and found John Deer dealer had SYN gear oil ISO VG 460 for 19.95 so I ordered 2 quarts / Power steering ordered filter #660987 and the book says Dextron -lll oil is that OK?

I don’t know where your getting your info on the fan gearbox? Here is the manual for the Superior 90 degree gearbox on my bus.

    http://www.superiorgearbox.com/bevelgearmanual.pdf

On page 3 Superior says to use 75-90w gear oil.

    Use Dexron VI

GM terminated all licensing for the production of Dexron III in 2006. The company advised GM vehicle owners that any other manufacturer’s claims made of compatibility past 2006 without official GM endorsement would be inaccurate. GM informed the public that the only fluid compatible with Dexron III was the replacement Dexron VI.
