  • Fan motor kaput

Posted by Chip & Pam on July 15, 2015 at 10:02 pm

    hello PC’rs

i need some help. I have a Dometic penguin heat pump that the fan motor has gone south. The AO Smith part number is 3106070.000 & model is F42C02A61. The problem I have is that the motor is no longer in production. Do any of you have a cross reference model that will mate up? I see a ORV4540 model online, but I’m not sure if it is a direct replacement.

Im down to 2 units and need to get number 3 back online ASAP. It’s hot, muggy and it is July in the swamp we call DC.I need a part supplier that can reference me the replacement and has it in stock.

    Thanks

If you have an electric motor repair shop nearby they might
be able to repair the one you have.

Maybe W. W. Granger can help.

If you have one localy take the motor to them.

If you can get the specs off the motor that might help, not neccessarlly the Dometic part numbers but the actual label off the motor if there is one.

If none of that works, try any RV dealer with a shop, I bet they have a pile of them out back you could get a motor off of. New would be nice but if you are in a bind it would work.

thanks for the replies. I have been in contact with Excalibur in Sanford. They have a direct line to Dometic. Doug and his folks are getting me the replacement motor and capacitors.

If all works out ill post the part numbers on this thread so anyone else needing the parts can have a reference.

Chip did you ever learn if there’s a direct replacement for the AO Smith Motor F42C02A61 ? Mine is caput and I’m sorting out what to do here for a replacement.

I actually have 2 of my 3 AC’s down and need capacitors I think for the other one.

Wow, that thread is 3 years old, Chip sold his bus Jeff and probably not on the site anymore.
