Expert Transmission, Inc. – Allison – Mobile
We are pleased to announce a new Advertiser with a unique service for Allison Tranmissions. Expert Transmission is a family business located in Huffman, TX that offers mobile service to just about anywhere in the country and repairs for ECU, Shifter Pad’s, Wiring Harnesses and all electrical components of the Transmission.
We’ve already had a member use the service and was so impressed, he referred Lewis to PC. Here’s an explanation of their service:
Expert Transmission Service, Inc. A family owned and operated business since 1993. Three generations are currently working together. The business and homes are on the same property.
Lewis, the second generation, does the trouble shooting and service calls.
**Many times he is able to repair the transmission on site.** Have truck will travel is his motto.
His Mom, the first generation, enjoys typing up his service calls, seeing how he comes to his conclusions and then making the repair. Her favorite ending to a service call report is: Transmission is now A-OK, ready to go.
We only do Allison Transmissions. That includes rebuilds. To facilitate down time if a transmission is condemned another is in stock and ready to swap out. That is headed up by Anthony, the third generation. We also rebuild ECU’s, shifters, repair and make wiring harnesses and all electrical components of transmission.
We enjoy our work, especially when we can please others.

It’s interesting that Rudy the Aqua-hot guru replied to this thread. When Beverly and I arrived in the Houston area after having traveled from Washington State we had both an Aqua-hot and a transmission problem. Tom Truk put us in contact with Rudy who did a wonderful job of getting our AH back in shape. Actually, Rudy coached me in making most of the repair myself.
Tom also had tried to help us find a reliable Allison/ rear end repair shop but we ended up finding Lewis Large on our own. I can’t say enough about Lewis’ expertise and the excellent results he achieved in fixing a hard-shift problem our coach has had ever since we bought it almost 10 years ago.
Both Rudy and Lewis are terrific repair guys if you’re in the Houston area. Both of them are mobile and will travel extensive distances in order to help out stranded travelers. It’s an asset to have them as advertisers on PC.

I wonder if the Large family involved in this transmission business were involved with singer/songwriter Lyle Lovett when he toured the country as “Lyle Lovett and His Large Band”. They are all from around the Houston area.

I was just wondering if Lewis at Expert Transmission Inc. is still doing mobile repair calls?
We are in the Houston area and we had some work done in Jacksonville but they were unable to repair the speedometer at that time and advised us to contact an Allison shop.

We had our Output Speed Sensor have a wiring issue last Saturday as we were on the road to Florida from Houston. Prevost couldn’t help but ended up referring us to Expert Transmission. Lewis came out and got us running again. He was terrific and the cost was very affordable.
Highly Recommend them.
