  • Exhaust heat blanket

Posted by Chip on July 10, 2021 at 11:25 am

I am in the process of buying a 2006 Prevost Marathon H3-45. We sent the coach to Prevost in Orlando, Fl for a pre-purchase inspection. There were a couple of minor issues that have been corrected, but the one that caused me concern was the inspector noted that there was NOT an exhaust heat blanket on any of the exhaust and noted that it should be installed. I remember that I had them on one of my earlier coaches, an 98 XL Marathon. I am wondering if that is something that they no longer are putting on or if it might have been there at one time and was taken off for some reason. Does anyone have an opinion?

Reason for heat blanket is to control temp in the engine compartment. It belongs on exhaust tubes and should be replaced if missing.

During the 90’s, some had blankets and some didn’t, it may have been an option for the converter when ordered.
