ESPAR FURNACE
For years I have fought to keep my 3 Espars running and finally got all three running simultaniously after replacing all fuel ines and fittings – for 15 minutes – then all 3 flamed out with fuel still flowing.
I don’t have a proper manual but it appears that they use glo plugs and that these are run by a control unit.
All wiring and fuses seem good – has any one conqured this problem?

Wish I could help Woody, but I don’t know a thing about those heaters. Your in the right place, some of these Vintage guys will probably be able to help, so stand by.

Just came back from 4 $$$ days at Millennium – great place with good people.
We are at Pellicans Landing in Sebastian – I’d send you an image but it asks for a URL and my stuff is just in a photo file.

I too have an old espar that is not working. It is in a 1981 Liberty conversion. The fuel lines have been removed and plugged and the exhaust port through the bottom of the engine has been covered (can be seen in picture). The condition may be terminal as someone before me went through great leaks to plug the fuel lines and block the exhaust. I would like to look at it someday – or have someone look at it – to see if it can be resurrected.
