Entry, step well and hand rail lights no worky?

We were loading last night for our Daytona 500 trip, and our hand rail, and entry lights were not working. Our hand rail lights and the light above passenger seat typically come on when the door opens. Then when in the coach and the step well button/switch is pushed the hand rail lights would come on. Same with entry light button/switch. But both were red and only the entry light would turn green and come on then go off then button turned red stayed red. Tripped breaker. Step well button would never turn green or come on. Neither come on when door opens.
One breaker is labeled spare the other entry light. Spare will not reset the entry light will but when we push button trips again. We replaced bulb. Still no worky.
Our porch light is jacked as well. The holes are stripped out and someone(not us, put toothpicks in the holes) to make the screws fit. So we keep blowing Bulbs out there from vibration I guess. I just wonder if any of it is related.
What I mean, since the porch light is located in the general vacinity as the other two, and that housing is super loose I’m wondering if that has shorted something out and started a domino effect?
Please gosh I hope not!
Any thoughts, or help! I need some light!
Will I be meeting any of you in Daytona? We just passed an all Tan Prevost Hon the on the 20 outside of Shreveport! We flashed (our lights that is) and waved!

I have a Vantare on an XL platform so it is probably different. However if my “Bay Lights Defeat” button is pressed then my interior entry lights will not come on when I open the door..

The problem is in hand rail just inside the door. Overtime the wires going to the lights inside the handle have frayed shorting out as they enter from behind the dash . The red light you mention is telling you fuse is out and or the circuit is open.
I had to remove the handle to locate the frayed wires.

In my Vantare, the red lights on the light switches by the entry door and throughout the coach indicate that the switch, or power is off to the particular item. When Green, they should be on. On the 12v breaker panel, usually in bay 2 road side, the red lights indicate that there is power to the circuit, or that the circuit is on.
If you are tripping the breaker, then there is a short as Al mentioned above in the hand rail lighting, or wiring to the micro switch which is activated by the door. You can see this switch by opening the door and looking behind the rubber boot covering the hinge. You may have to remove the panel going up the steps facing toward the front. You can get access to most of the wiring there.

We just saw an all tan H in AZ going west on the I-10 (we were going east). Wonder if it’s the same one? This is a small world!

Howdy from the The 49 in Louisiana headed home to beat yet another snow/ice storm in Dallas??
Well we had a blast! The only problem is we saw soooo many beautiful Prevosts which showed us how many different options were out there. We were already looking at newer coaches now we really have the fever!
The Featherlite Conversion Company was set up just down from us. Them as well as the Prevost Reps came and spent some time with us at our camp site. That was very cool. Needless to say, our lights started working as soon as they came over. We think one of our fuses was not plugged in all the way? Possibly from vibration.
It was nice to be able to speak to both companies and learn from each of them but that only left us wanting more info and more education.
We got marooned in Lafayette off the I-10 last night just after that scary long swamp bridge as it was below 32 and drizzling freezing rain. We pulled into the Cajun Palms RV Resort, off exit 115. All I can say is WOW!!
All paved, 320 full hook-ups, cable, Internet, pull thrus long enough with toad attached and gated! It was after hours and they came to the office and HAPPILY obliged us a space for $32! We would have paid any amount of $$ last night to off that black ice and safe. Just can’t say enough, they saved us and it was refreshing to sleep in a quiet clean welcoming RV Spot that we could fit in so easily.
Here is a snippet of our week. Sure was great meet other owners. Everyone is so nice.
