SEVERAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS HANDLE MOTORCOACH FIRE ALONG ROUTE 15FNN Article Update © Thursday, May 19, 2022.Click images to view names of photographers.STEAM VALLEY – A burning RV Motorhome/tour bus hauling a trailer was reported sitting along the shoulder of Route 15 in the northbound lane near the 184 Exit (Steam Valley) in Cogan House Township. It was later stated that this was a JGM Motorcoach owned by Jamie Morral of Wellsboro, PA.The first report of the fire came in to FNN by 3:10 PM. Fire crews from Liberty, Cogan House Substation, Blossburg, Morris, Old Lycoming Vol. Fire Company and units from Trout Run were dispatched to the vehicle fire at 3:16 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022.Fire units started arriving on scene around 3:30 PM and found the RV fully involved.The fire consumed the motorcoach and was finally extinguished by 4:16 PM. Around that same time, a tow truck was reported on scene, as well as a Pennsylvania State Police unit.One lane remained open to allow traffic to pass through during most of the incident.There were no reported injuries in this incident, however, the motorcoach was a complete loss.The vehicle was towed from the scene by Bressler’s Garage.This is a second motorcoach to catch on fire in the same area within a week. -

They must have really wanted whatever was in that trailer to unhook it while the engine was ablaze. I’ll bet that was exciting.

Removing the trailer might have helped with attempts to control the fire. Still that would be a challenge with the fire and making sure it didn’t roll away.

I wonder how they got the slide partially out.

The pressure that builds from the fire causes the slide to blow out.
It is very common my friend lost his bus due to a oil heater issue and the fire blew out 2 slides in a 2010 XLII.
