Engine compartment lights inop
Has anyone chased these lights? I don’t have voltage at the switch on the end of the electrical box above the engine. But this switch might make the ground because the multi meter beeps when the black lead is on a ground and red lead is on one of the switch pins. Checked the 3 amp fuse in front of it, looked good, changed it anyway, no help. Bulb is good.

The source wire comes out of the engine bay electrical box and is labeled on the door of the electrical box. check it for power and then follow the wire to the light. You may have a short or loose connection.

Dan, try dash chassis switch ON with ignition key ON position or accessories position…

Thanks Dorel, you had the correct answer. I turned ignition switch counter clockwise from off one click. Lights are good.
Don’t care for the logic how it’s wired though.

Logic….so I was told
Bus drivers would check engine oil when signing off on a trip.
Problem…..At request of bus owners after a pile of dead batteries … drivers forgot to turn off engine room lights at night and probably day time hours.
Solution….-the lights were automatically off when the ignition key was in off position or removed.
