Has anybody thought about if the key won’t open the engine bay door or the auto lock button won’t open the side engine bay door on a XLll because to get the rear doors to the engine open the handle is inside the side engine door , I have and so I have unplugged the the wires so if I want it locked I can lock with the key mine can be hard to open with the key some times have lubed it and made adjustments but just don’t trust it, hard to check the belts and things back there if you can not get in the back , I have put pull wire on handle to open back engine doors ,under bus just in case it won’t let me in side door so I can still open engine doors to check things and can open side engine door from back , food for thought guys!!!!!

You could reach up from under the coach and reach handle also if your arm is long enough

I never lock my engine bay door on my H. It is not part of the electric lock system with the other bay doors anyway. I have to manually lock with the key to lock, if I ever need to lock it.

I’m always opening it at each stop, just to look around, so I leave it unlocked.

Our front driver’s bay door, the rear passenger side engine bay door and the electric bay door just in front of the engine bay door (engine batteries, etc.) are not on the automatic loop, manual only.
