EMERGENCY EXIT PLAN
Practised an emergency bedroom exit today. Disabled drivers side window hardware so window hinges up further. This disables window opening by motor also.
Used extendable adjustable rod to hold window open for exiting through. Once open & secured use a house fire escape ladder that will hook over window frame.

There is a bigger concern. The entertainer’s bus (Montgomery) that laid itself on its side on I-75 a week or so ago puts the side windows that could be used for escape 8 1/2 feet high. In that case the best escape is to punch out the windshield.
Different issues require different escape strategies and the best time to be prepared is to mentally review all of the what ifs. An inoperable front door with the bus upright is a good reason to exit from a window, but what if the bus is on its side, upside down, on fire or any of the other possibilities?
