  • Emergency Brake Air valve PP-1

Posted by Andre on April 11, 2014 at 4:31 pm

Ok I have a silly question. I want to replace my emergency brake valve and because of where it is I cannot make out what holds the handle on the valve. It is very hard to see but looks like it might be a roll pin? Anyone know for sure?

    Does it just push out?

Have a new one on order. Still chasing air leaks but making progress.

The pin is indeed a roll pin. I turn the knob until I can get a small diameter punch lined up with the pin and tap it with something like a small hammer or anything with a little weight. The pin will push right out.

Andre a lot of the new ones don’t have roll pins they have a spring pin just push it in and off it comes. The older ones have a roll pin just use small punch and it comes out .

    Peter,

Thanks, looks like the valve is the orginal one that came with the bus and it has a roll pin. The new one will be here Monday and I will see if it has a sping pin.
