Electrical System Suggestions
Hello, Gentlemen,
I have a friend who is not a member here that is building a Semi-Truck based Motor Home. He is using a 20 KW Diesel Generator. Wants to use 2 Sine Wave Inveters with chargers built in. I have given him my ideas and am here asking for yours.What type of batteries,How Many? anything else you suggest he use or needs. Money is not as much a hurdle as simplicity and adequate power are. Thank You in advance for your help.

Assuming he has space he needs to calculate how long he wants to run his devices. Does he want to run an AC all night long? or does he just want to keep the refrigerator going?
He will have to figure his loads, length of time between charges, and that will tell him how many batteries and their capacity. He may have an idea he wants to run long hours watching TV, running an AC, etc. but the downside is replacement cost and the ongoing expense of carry the extra weight around. He has to do an analysis of his needs with respect to battery operation versus just running the generator. With two inverters it suggests he is going to have substantial loads.
