  • Electrical – Storm

Storm came through. Lost my comptuter to rain. Working from phone.

All interior lights flashing on and off at 3am. Woke up to find galley flooded and rain dripping in over couch which was soaked on one end. Lights still going off and on intermittently.

Coach was level. Put out awning over front slide. Then tipped the bus so slide side was lower hoping rain would run off of slide. Wonder what neighbors thought about coach starting up in middle of night. Loosened screws in ceiling so accumulation of rain would pour out rather than drip. Storm passed. No more leaking water. Just a wet salon…and flashing lights.

I can can turn the lights off but in a bit they will come on again…and then off… and on every few minutes. ????? What to do?????

Nancy and Cindy….My wife and I still love our slides and worth this hiccup.

I think you will find that the aux air required to keep the slide seals inflated is on the Prevost system as it is a Prevost slide, however with the valve closed in the front bay as designed by Marathon you get no aux air from the air compressor. So either you must run your coach every few days to maintain air pressure, add another aux air compressor, leave the valve open in the run bay, or move the slide air….

As far as the water, water area got the water? Send me a pic….sometimes it will dry out and function…other times you must replace the board for that lighting…

One of the things we cover in detail at the seminars is the pneumatic systems on the coaches.

Every converter seems to do things a little different from the others, and as desgins evolve there are even variations within the same converter’s products. We have covered the Marathon aux air system here and we will cover it in the seminar. The coaches have a lot of “gotchas” so every owner really needs to make a strong effort to learn the coach, because the school of hard knocks has a very expensive tuition.

Last night at Naples it poured rain. And we have deflated slide seals due to a new front slide seal leak ($$). We’ve turned off the air to the slide manifold and tilted Big Red slightly to the driver’s side. The water runs off and the squeegy seals keeps rain out so far.

The $$ mentioned above moves from this page to Jeff in early March.
