  • Electrical Schematics

    Posted by Dustin on November 15, 2013 at 6:02 pm

    Hi, I’ve been working at a company that has many Prevost busses and I’ve been searching through their electrical schematics. All the manuals and schematics were in a mess, but I’m sorting through them slowly. My question is below;

    QUESTION: Can you tell me which years of busses use the same electrical schematics?

    For example, I was working on a 2007 bus and using some 2010 schematics. They seemed to be the same because I found the problem in the IO/B module 45, and the headlamp/marker lamp circuits.

    Anyways, we have busses from 1994 through 2012 I believe. We also have VIPs and regular coaches.

    schematics. go to prevostcar.com web site under wiring diagrams last letter in coach serial # plus last 4 numbers of serial number. will give you diagram for the coach as built by prevost but will not contain any modifications made by anyone else. Last letter will be year of manfacture last 4 didgets will be unit number You will also find air diagrams and much more there easy down load. Sometimes things changed from unit to unit. Bob
    Example mine is W 6553

    Mr. D,

    Yes and no. Prevost has been very consistent in how they run the pneumatics and the electrical systems from model year to model year, but those schematics are coach specific. In general for an overview you can work on one year coach while looking at the schematic from another year but Prevost makes running changes so you really need to look at the diagrams specific to the VIN.

    There are changes that may not impact the area you are trouble shooting, but there can be changes that will lead you astray so it is worth the effort.

    Obvously you need to get the proper drawings when you are dealing with coaches that have vastly different electrical systems such as those with the multiplex system compared to the non-multiplex coaches. But even with significant differences you will find consistency. On any coach, any model, any year the ignition circuit is going to be 85 so some things aren’t going to change. It is only when you get into the details that you need appropriate diagrams.
