Electrical Issue
Hello,
I have a 1999 Prevost 45XL
I am currently stranded on a wamart parking lot. I rode fine yesterday but this moring went to start bus when I turned the switch I had nothing. No normal dash lights all was dead.
I went back and unhooked and load tested all four batteries and all checked out fine. On further checking, hazzard lights and headlights work. I went to the rear and switch for starting back there and the bus started right up however still no sign of juice from the key switch at the front.
I am wondering if it is an issue with the battery equalizer. I have had the bus since January 1st and 3-4 times have seen the balance light on the dash flicker. Yesterday when driving, the balance light flickered for maybe 30 seconds and also this time the hi/lo light flickered as well.
i am at a loss for how to test this and or get around it to get up the road.

Well, I got it going. Found a post online about the trick where you remove the key and lock and unlock the door at the key pad. Did that and all went back to normal. When I have time I need to figure out why that worked and what was wrong but now I am rolling.

Confirm that when you turn the key from “off” to “on” that absolutely nothing on the dash lights up or does anything.
Fuel gauge doesn’t move, there is no indication of anything happening on the dash.
When you turn the key to “start” is there any clicking from the starter?
Apparently this ended well before the PC Rapid Response Incident Team made it to the bus!

It helps with more accurate answers if your signature line includes information not only about the year and type of coach, but the conversion.
From your posts it would seem the burglar alarm disabled the coach , but you disengaged it with your procedure of unlocking the door.

It sounds like the alarm system got set. When you locked and unlocked the door you reset it. Glad it was simple.
