EGR coolant hose
This might be a coincidence or it could be a potential problem for all EGR equipped coaches, especially those in the 10+ year range.
I had a hose leak at what appeared to be at the upper hose clamp where the rubber coolant elbow (053696) attaches to the EGR intercooler and re-tightening the clamp appeared to solve the problem. However after about 200 miles I had a catastrophic failure and Prevost service had to come to the coach to make the on-road repair.
Now another member with a similar age coach is experiencing a leak at the same clamp at the same hose elbow.
I would urge all owners of early model EGR equipped coaches, and maybe high mileage EGR coaches to pay close attention to the hose on the bottom of the EGR intercoolers. It is very difficult to see, but it is at the lower left side of the engine where several large diameter coolant pipes are located. If you see any coolant dripping from that area, or if you see evidence of a leak such as a dried haze on the rear of the coach or toad, or if you note the coolant level has gone down I suggest you immediately take the coach in for repairs and hose replacement. If this is a problem that is going to be common to our coaches a clamp tightening is not going to fix the problem but may only temporarily delay it. The repair involves draining all coolant for hose replacement.

The only way to see the hose is to stick my head under the LH rear of the coach and look up. I am getting ready to head to West Palm for the Prevost show and the bus is lowered down making that impossible unless I raise it and put stands under it.
What I can say in the absence of a photo is if it is safe to do it look up at the left rear corner of the coach and you will see a couple of coolant pipes with a U shape and petcocks for draining. Slightly forward of them is the only elbow shaped coolant hose. If it is original it will be blue and it is connected at the top of the elbow to the bottom of the EGR intercooler, and at the bottom to a horizontal coolant pipe.
A member has sent me photos of his and I can tell you that even though I know what I am looking at in the photos I would not have known where the elbow is relative to anything unless I had worked on it on my coach. The replacement is a red or orange color so if you see an elbow in that color it is probable yours had been replaced.
