    ECM Removal

    I need to send my ECM out for repair.

    Anyone have experience in removing one 1997 chassis.

    Sent ECM to Detroit Diesel Services in PA

    they said memory was bad and replaced the memory. That correlates with Pro Driver notice ECM WRITE ERROR.

    Installed and engine self test lights go out and engine starts normally. No Tachometer reading. High an normal idle function as should. Transmission shifts in to drive and reverse.

    Anyone know what plug on ecm outputs the tach signal? Don’t want to be pulling connections if not related to problem, don’t want to risk damaging a connection.

    When reinstalled ecm switched on power but tach and odometer were not working then noticed had no 12 volt power.

    Trouble shooting found that when turned the 12 volt cutoff on it evidently didn’t mate properly. Turned off and back on and power was restored.
