Just got back from Rincon beach in calif for 4 days it was beautiful down there, But anyways last time we were down there was 2 years ago and we ran gen for a couple of hours a day plus solar and during the night the inverter would kick off from lack or volts and refer would shut off so in morning fire gen and let it run till batteries are at 100 percent. Now 1.5 years ago I got rid of the old Heart interface inverters ,and replaced the 22 year old Whirlpool refer with a new Whirlpool refer and now I ran gen for 1 hour at night before quite time and in the morning the Victron battery monitor was showing 95 percent at 12.65 volts and everything was still running, The Last night only ran gen 4o min and in the morning it showed 93 percent at 9.53v.

    Art,

Big improvement from your last trip. How much solar do you have and how many house batteries ?

Love the Victron battery monitor. It’s on my want list.

Don’t know what batteries you have for the house, but if they’re Lifelines, they need to be charged to 100%. You likely have (5) 8D’s and that will take about 3 hrs of bulk/absorption charge to fully charge to float. At float you should be at 13.4 volts.

It has 4 8D lifeline and from 95 percent it hits 100 percent in 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

It’s got 3 old panels and controller on it, That’s on the list 4 Zamp panels with new controller.
