  • Drivers air cycling

I will bite on lack of posts.

Intermittently, the driver’s a/c compressor and the high speed fan cycle on and off every few seconds. Can’t really predict or associate anything with that happening. The driver a/c cools just fine. Fan clutch new a few months ago (less than 10,000 miles) as a rebuilt from place in Georgia. This just started happening a few weeks ago. Freon levels/pressures right on. Haven’t been able to find any loose wires – and have spent hours looking – and high and low pressure switches all test ok.

    Any thoughts? Mike

Should also say that when I break the 85 tab off the high speed fan relay (79) then the fan and compressor just run continuously and happily. Does this then point to problem being with the fan clutch????? Does a/c compressor respond to fan clutch cut out?????

I believe when the compressor gets power, the fan is triggered to high speed and stays there as long as compressor is energized. How it gets the signal is beyond my pay grade, but likely involves relays.
