If the water is entering the lower arm at the top where the black cap is, why can we not drill a “seep” hole at the bottom of the lower arm near where it attaches to the coach. I would assume a small hole drilled into the aluminum would not hurt the integretiy of the arm, and allow the water to pass out the “seep” hole. Thus avoiding the need to over extend the awning. I don’t think that the arm is filled with lubricant.

In my Liberty, the control unit is behind the entertainment center, and then another bulkhead. Almost impossible to get to easily.
