Drawer Parts
Posted by Archived on April 19, 2013 at 7:41 amThe drawers have a little rubber bumper on the outside of the track and I have a few in the bays that have gotten brittle over the years and fell apart. Anyone have a suggestion as to a source for these?

This is a blanket suggestion that might apply to a lot of searches for small but necessary parts.
I would recommend you find the type of suspension, its name or manufacturer is likely stamped in the metal somewhere. Then Google the manufacturer to see if they will sell those parts. Items like that with extensive and expensive hard tooling are not subject to design changes very often so it is probable those drawer suspensions have been made for decades and will continue to be made for decades.
If the manufacturer does not stamp the name or model number in the slides a Google search will bring up a large number of manufacturers and the one that made those drawer slides is likely going to be on the search. Look under drawer slides, drawer suspensions, or drawer mechanisms.

Tom;
If you will post up some pictures of the slide mechanism, I might be able to identify the manufacturer. I must add the cautionary statements,
1. Over the past 10 years, slide technology has changed dramatically and parts for many older slide sets are non-existant. However, most slides can be directly replaced with a modern equivalent.
2. The slides used on our coaches are generally rated for interior use. Our bays are more like an exterior environment. Thus, they will fail.
Here are the references for a couple of suppliers I had association with. Both have comprehensive lines of hardware and both have locations in Georgia. But, both have decnt web pages and take on-line orders.
Richlieu may require an account. If so, let me know and I will see if they would do a temporary re-activation of my account.

Now I know why Ed makes the big bucks. I just forgot when I had a drawer slide issue once I did what he suggested and just replaced the ones originally installed with a new set that was the same dimensionally, but was a different brand.
Accuride maybe?
I do recall the replacement slides were cheap, like about $14 for the pair.

Thanks Dustman, I’ll go dig for the manufacturer name and hopefully it’s stamped.

Talk about Service…. I emailed Accuride with a picture of the bumper and today I recieve a Fed Ex box with a package of 20 bumpers, no charge. They responded within 24 hrs of the e-mail.
Now that’s good ole Amercian Service!

Accuride, Blum, Hettich, Knapp- Voight are all greeat companies for customer service. They don’t like it when an owner calls them and tells them that the drawers are falling out of their $million outdoor kitchen, or the wife is unhappy because her closet slides and pulls are for Cr@p. Or, when Tom calls them and complains about their product in his $3-million coach and he threatens them that he knows Jon who has a $5-million coach, just for weekends, and …..

I’m sorry Jon, My most humble apologies. Was I 50% low or was I 75% low on that number?
I mean it is true that you have your tool box in the coach bay loaded with many of these tools, Right?

I use those bills for pocket change. My tool chest has a book of 800 help me numbers.

Wow, Dusty is a little spunky today…..
Hey, what can he say, it’s a Liberty!!!!!

I know Tom. Maybe it is time to revisit Jon in his official Liberty Driver’s suit….?
