DN50 Amps??
I was talking to Dick Warren yesterday about his DN50 generator, the voltage regulator for it failed, He said he turned the screw to change the volts a little and it went to 16volts, And we both have Royales mine is a 97 and I think his ia a 99 or maybe a 2000 it’s a XL-1 coach, And the DN50 is 12v. I heard the DN50’s can be set up many different ways 12v-24v and different amp output’s for different reasons. On his coach it’s set up to be able to Invert one AC unit on the roof, Mine is not, He needs a lot more amps than I do to charge house batteries. Dick said his was 270 amps, How do you know?? My voltage regulator for DN50 is a Transpo # D443, his is a Delco Remy looks the same design. Above the Regulator there is a Bosch 12v – 75 amp cube relay for that system. Does that mean my DN50 is max 75amps?

Voltage can be slightly adjusted using the regulator, yet not the amperage capacity nor its overall operating voltage (in our case they are either 12 OR 24 volts only.
The model number of your 50DN should be visible upon either an affixed metal badge or embossed into the rear-facing cover. Google that number and you should find its amperage rating.

The reason I ask is because the voltage regulator (Transpo D443) has to be able to handle 270 amps, If that’s what the DN50 puts out.

I think there might be some confusion on what the VR does. The purpose of the VR is to monitor Battery Voltage and apply charging power from the Alternator if needed. The adjustment screw you were talking about is just there to fine tune your alternator Output Voltage. The VR does not carry the 270 Amp potential.

All a VR does is regulate power to the field to maintain battery voltage.
