DIY Gen Radiator & Fan Bay Remodel
Ever ask yourself “What’s behind my generator radiator”???? I never gave it much thought. My gen has never given me a moment of trouble. If it’s ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right???
On my bus the genny radiator and its fan setup are remotely located two bays away (fwd) from the generator. In Sept of 2015, I did a DIY remodel of the bay. I found that there is a large 120v motor that drives a belt that drives a large squirrel cage fan so as to draw air thru the radiator. Also, there is plenty of heat barrier/sound deadening material, and ours was falling down/apart. Our belt was probably the original and was in bad shape. You may want to have a look-see at your setup? ON OURS, to adjust/change the belt, NAPA# A39, there’s a removable panel in the inverter/electrical bay.
Also, when I got the old material off the walls, I found another secret door. This door provides access to the Prevost OTR air/heat evaporator and heater core. I was hoping to find a treasure chest, or at least a map ;). I’ll keep searching.
Here are some pics.

Sorry Jon, one of these days I’m gonna polish me pipes. I’m not worthy
