I should have added that there is a setting which is called Hybrid mode. I did not know that KVH could be setup that way but in addition to the WA and EA settings the Hybrid mode will toggle between 61.5, 110 and 119. In this (unusual) mode in the Eastern US you will get much of the HD programming and local Network programming from 61.5 and the other stuff from 110 and 119. In all cases, the antenna has to be set to toggle between the 3 satellites as you change channels. No one satellite can provide you with all of the DISH programming.

That’s what I said previously. I am using the eastern legacy arc and it is the preferred choice for the geographic area I am (was) in. It is set on automatic so the antenna does the switching to select the appropriate satellite for the selected channel.

But to test the receiver I manually selected 110 because several of the channels that were not being received were on that satellite, and doing that did not bring in those channels. But as I mentioned previously when I went back to the automatic antenna mode, the next day one of the missing channels was working.

It was and is this inconsistency that seems to suggest the receiver might be an issue.

If you have the option to connect the receiver to a Trav’ler (friends coach?) or a home antenna that would be a great test of the receiver. The KVH antennas are used by no RV manufacturers that I am aware of and there is a pretty good reason why. And, no, it’s not just cost.

By the way, does the receiver show that you have successfully gotten the SW64 switch setup? Which DISH receiver are you using?

I am using the Wally. I am on switch DT34 which is what is required of the application.

I have no doubt it is unrelated to the antenna because it provides excellent signal strength. The supervisors at Dish and I agreed the antenna is doing what it is supposed to and that the receiver which had the latest software downloaded is likely the problem.

My problem is it is on the bus and while we are going to be using the bus for trips from now until after Oysterfest I only get to evaluate the system when we use the bus. I am not going to run the bus in and out of the garage and up and down the driveway every time someone gets a different idea on something to try so now I am prepared to let them send me a new receiver just prior to a trip so it can be tested on the trip. I don’t care if it works when I am home, I want one to work when on the road or parked away from home.
