Does anyone have ONE (1) DirecTV account with Premium Channels that they use for both their home and coach?

This works perfectly without issue. The only reason you would ever need to contact anyone at DTV is if you want to change your local Network reception. That means that if you were to travel 300-1000 miles from home (depends upon market and your location) you would lose ALL of your Network programming (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS) but NOTHING else. If you use a Genie you would also still have all of your recorded programming available to you.

Remember that all of those Networks are available using your OTA TV antenna if you are only going to be at a location for a short period of time. Much of the rest depends upon how long you will be gone from your home market and how far you plan to travel. One option if you plan to travel say 6 months per year is to have DTV turn on the Distant Network Service where you will get either NY or LA Network programming no matter where you travel.

Jimmy, right now we have to call – it goes surprisingly easy. Like one person said, the call is only to have locals changed to the new camping spot. On the road and only doing an over night stay, we don’t bother with Dish locals, just use the over the air antenna for local channels but still have all the other Dish plan channels.

We’ve been told that there will be an app soon.

If you are a DISH customer the app has been available for a long time. However, it’s only for folks who have accounts tagged as “outdoor” and not home accounts.

Getting DTV to change your locals (the topic at hand) is quite different.

I take two Directv receivers when I travel. Yes, I loose my local channels at about 200 miles but other than that everything is the same. No complaints.

So you can watch 2 different channels on 2 different TV’s at the same time. Also, depending upon the original coach wiring it might be the most logical way to get HD programming to each TV.
