While in Cripple Creek Co. I called and had my local channels switched to the ones in Cripple Creek, no problem.

I then went to Spearfish SD and called and asked them to be switched to local channels there. I was told that it could not be done because of FCC regs. I told them surely the rule had not changed in last 4 days but after a long explanation I told them in my opinion they must have and idiot making rules in their Co. , probaly more than one!!!!!!!!!!

It does not happen very often anymore…but when it does….I know in the first 10 seconds whether or not I’ll have to explain it to that person. Hang up and call again, guaranteed to get someone else. Geo.

Not to change the subject (still DTV though) but I have a little DTV comedy to add. In my coach I use the wireless setup. There’s a server and 3 receivers. Works great. Only issue is my bill. I have 3 TV’s and they charge me for 4 @ $7 each. So I called 3 times and the answer is “you have 4 tv’s” to which I say “no I have 3”. Finally they said the server counts as a tv even though it’s not hooked up to its own tv, but the bill says tv’s.

Ron, would you share the “wireless” equipment you are using.

My Marathon still has old style DTV receiver and the “switch” to select front /rear and sat./ antenna.

    Jim,

I have a Genie HR54 wireless server, 3 CW41 genie mini client receivers and one wireless bridge WVB. All connected to a DTV Winegard Trav’ler and controlled thru my Crestron. The Crestron programming wasn’t cheap but the system works flawlessly. Hope this helps – Ron

If you have an HR 54 plus 3 mini genies (or whatever they call them today) then you have 4 receivers on your account and you can watch 4 different channels on 4 different TV’s. The new Genie 2 is a stand alone server and is not connected to any TV. You would then have clients at each TV location.

I have an HR54 connected to my main TV and a client on the 2nd TV. I get charged for 2 recievers.
