Detroit Series 60 valve adjustment
I have 64,000 miles on my coach so I scheduled an appointment in Stuart to have the valves adjusted and the injectors set,the intakes were loose and the exhaust were tight which the technician thought would be the case.Also the injector height was adjusted and all were off just a little,after this it seems to run just the same,I have not traveled enough to verify any increase in fuel mileage yet.The floor of the closet step had to be removed to get the valve cover off.

Jack: At idle the noise change? I would think that if any of them were loose you would have been hearing a little clickety click clack at idle. Had you noticed a drop in fuel mileage? What was the cost? How much time did it take? Thanks for the update.

The valves are set at 08 and mine were out less than 01,it took 7 hours to take the closet apart and put back together,the valve adjustment took about 6-8 hours.I think the fuel mileage is better now since I have driven 500+ miles.
