Needs to be THOROUGHLY flushed.

***Your coolant filter is likely wrong now also. It should always be a “blank” filter for OAT coolant. I.e., contain NO supplemental coolant additives

If the two technologies are mixed it appears the only downside is the coolant now has a 2 year life, instead of an extended life. If a blank coolant conditioner was used and is still in place, replace it with one that adds SCAs over time.

I had researched this issue in the past when trying to help inform another friend.

I just now googled “what happens when mix sca coolant with oat coolant” and this is the first result:

Never Mix OAT with Regular Coolant

• Mixing coolants can cause a loss of stability in the corrosion inhibitor, cavitation erosion, and gelling damage. This type of damage is not covered by your warranty, and repairs can cost thousands of dollars.
• Adding as little as 10% of regular coolant in an OAT system is enough to cause damage to your machine.
• Look for the OAT decal before adding or changing coolant to ensure you don’t mix coolants and cause gelling inadvertently.

Thanks for the input. Will not attempt to mix.

To clarify, had extended life Power Cool Plus. Prevost removed, flushed and refilled with just Power Cool.

Went from extended life to basic 2 year protection. Not happy about it. Specifically ask for the Power Cool Plus and not the regular Power Cool. Guess you don’t always get what you ask for…
