  • Decal removal

Posted by tom on January 27, 2018 at 6:36 pm

Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to remove the old diesel decals from a stainless bay door without damaging the door?

I do not think using a heat gun would be a good idea. Thoughts?

O’Reilly Auto Parts sells erasers that attach to drill motors. It will take it off and works great.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover part number 08984 will be safe for paint and effective for removing adhesive. Widely available too.

Sounds silly, but I often use WD40 to clean up residual label adhesive.

Please let us know what you end up using and how well it works. Mine look exactly like your’s and need to come off too.

Could someone please tell me the source of the Diesel decals?

From the responses, it appears we need to order them in bulk?

They probably ought to come with the annual dues renewal notifications.

    Thank you,

    Pres

We have no such decals on the outside of our coach. The info is on the back of the fuel door (out of sight).

I notice the guys that think they need new decals are CC guys. Does this mean owners of CC coaches are the same folks that need the signs saying the bridge freezes before the road surface and that big trucks make wide turns?

Boy that felt good saying that. It has been a long time since I have picked on CC owners.

Glad that felt good Jon. I have a hunch the cc guys may have something to say about you reminding them that big trucks make wide turns. 😮
