    Just spent a few hours meeting and talking with Paul Newman, Owner of Dazzling Detailing…who is currently at Olympia Luxury Motorcoach in Murfreesboro, TN.

    Paul’s team did a spectacular job sanding down and custom detailing our 18-year old coach! It looks Incredible – despite having rained at least three days this week. The paint job and wheels look every bit as good as the 2015 H3 45 next to it! They also applied a treatment to our front that “self heals” rock chips and does not peel or yellow like the old 3M film.

    Dazzling Details is currently sanding and detailing a beautiful 2012 Prevost Liberty Elegant Lady (Sold) and it is really something getting to see the transformation of the exterior – in keeping with the incredible interior and chassis work already done by Austin Hicks’ teams at Olympia…this place impresses you more every day!

    Hope everyone has a better outcome with Paul than I had. Scheduled appointment to have $1,000 worth of work done, price set and agreed. He was a no show. No call, no text, just did not show up. I again scheduled with him to do the coach while it was at Prevost Winter Garden. Worked with Prevost to give him a 2 week window and again he was a no show with no call, no text, no contact. That has been over 2 months ago and he only apologized after I posted his actions, or non action, on Facebook. Seems to have time for facebook, but no time for his customers. I can not give him or his company a good reference and can not recommend him or his services. Any additional question, you can email me.

    Yes, they used 2,000 grit to remove @1/4 mm of the @10mm of bus’s clear coat…to remove deep set-in dirt and swirls. Then, they wipe off the white residue, finely polish and buff. Next they will come back over small sections at a time with 3M waxes (on ours, they used a 3M wax with a 1-year clear coat)…and, the finished shine is breathtaking – mirror quality!

    This is a picture of a small area of a 2012 H3 45 that has had the 2,000 grit sanding, been wiped and polished…hasn’t been 3M waxed yet – and, still super shiny!

    Paul has had a crew working at Olympia Luxury Motorcoach for the past 3-weeks. They volunteered to work yesterday and again today – to help meet delivery timelines on a couple coaches rolling out this week! Nice people, who work hard and deliver a great finished product (they’ve been at it since 7:30 a.m., yesterday and today). Great work ethic.

    Who in the world told you there’s 10mm of clear on a bus.

    6mm =1/4 inch

    10mm =3/8 of a inch

    Clear is measured in microns

    Back in the old days the restoration of a shine, eliminating years of minute scratches from dirt being rubbed off the paint surface by washing with inadequate amounts of flooding water, rubbing compound was used. It was often used with a buffing wheel and it was not uncommon to have paint on high spots like a crease worn through to primer.

    I guess today it is sandpaper.

    A long time ago James of Xtreme told me today’s technical finishes are limited to 21 MM to avoid a lot of issues that will occur if the finish gets too thick. I doubt if all finishes are that total thickness, even with the multiple colors and patterns used on them. That means a light sanding of the finish is likely OK, but I seriously doubt the clear coat is thick enough to remove 10 MM.

    Others may do this, but I know Millennium does exactly the process described on brand new coaches from the Prevost factory to get the maximum gloss possible when they deliver their new conversions.
