Dash lighting
This past week I had occasion to spent three hours driving our coach at night on two separate evenings. The gauges are getting difficult to see and the labels for the driver and coach fan and temp knobs are really difficult to see. The same is true for some of the rocker switches. I suspect that some of the back lighting is burned out. I’ll have to investigate.
Looking at the OEM Prevost gauges from 1998 they are dark in color which I think makes reading them at night very difficult. I’m wondering if white face gauges would be easier to see.
Has anyone replaced their entire dash? Replace gauges? Or maybe just the switch panels? I stumbled on to this company: https://newwiremarine.com/about/ They purport to replace instrument panels on boats, large boats in some cases. The technology (LED apparently) is much more current than what is behind our dashes today.
I’m wondering if electric gauges are all the same. Will a 2021 coolant water temp or oil pressure gauge work OK with whatever the 1998 sending unit is sending you? TIA
