Dash bay door light
My bay door light is staying on constantly. The switches at the dash and the main door both lock and unlock all bay doors so its just the light. Is that a relay issue? A bay door indicator? Any ideas on where to start looking?

I finally gave up on mine trying to find the switch that wasn’t working after taking apart every latch and just removed the relay, light gone…

Unfortunately you will have to check all the microswitches on each latch individually. You have to take the backing off each bay door to do this. One of them must not be in adjustment or could be bad.
If you go around to each bay with a key and make sure the pin is fully closing does the light go out? Not a hard job just takes a lot of time but maybe you will get lucky and find it on the first door you check.

One of your power lock actuators is probably not activating the Micro switch because the lock is loose or not adjusted right.
Go to each door and remove the inside cover and manually activate the switch until you find the culprit .

I spent several weeks doing what Patrick says and FINALLY got them working … for about a month, then did exactly what Tom did. No more light.

Revisiting an old thread. Am confused. There are two bay door lights. One is the bay door locked light which is powered by relay #71 and the other is the bay door ajar light. Where is the micro-switch for the door ajar light. Have been wasting my time with the lock switches because someone already removed relay #71. Was that you Tom?

On my Parliament which is a 2008, but these switches are Prevost. The pin switch on the top of the door frame operates the bay light and the second wire os for the door ajar light. The pin switches provide a ground. Check to be sure the adjustment is so the door actually opens the switch. It may be easier to disconnect the wires on each door till you find the culprit. Remember the engine door, both rearmost doors, the front bumper, and door under the driver are also switched.

Thanks Mikee. Am not sure these switches weren’t messed with when someone changed to LED lights in the bays. Wasn’t aware they were dual purpose.
Tom, after testing with a meter its my opinion the switch in the photo is for the bay LOCK light not for the bay door AJAR light unless it’s somehow a dual purpose switch but I don’t see how it could detect a door ajar.
