Dash AC Pressures?
Finally going to take bus in and charge the dash AC system, What I have been reading in Prevost service manual it says Low side 35psi or lower – High side never exceed 225-250. Is there a rule of thumb on ambient temp and pressures, and 8 lbs for drivers AC? Another thing I don’t understand is the oil? The new compressor has like 14 oz of PAG oil in it but you also add oil to the 134A also??
Also looking at schmatics it shows low side PSI switch 5psi to 30psi, high side PSI switch 245psi to 320psi -

That site Jeff posted is very useful. The rule of thumb on oil is 1 oz for for every 7 or 8 feet of lines over 15 feet. So you should have plenty. I don’t use weight at all but rather use pressures keeping in mind that they, too, are guidelines. When I get cooling I am happy with, the Eagle has landed. Go slow and add little bits at a time on the suction side. I have been known to add an ounce at a time letting things stabilize each time until I get what I’m after. I have a sight guage on my dryer. Fill till no air bubbles in window. Do you have a sight guage on your dryer?
