  • custom pocket doors

Posted by josh on April 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm

I was curious about information for custom pocket doors on the high end that are automatic or can open with the push of a button. I have seen them in other models and am curious what a pair might cost to have them custom built. I know they are common on yachts and private jets, but I dont see to many companys offering them as an upgrade for custom luxury coaches.

    any information would be great,

    thanks!

A lot of converters use pocket doors because unlike swinging or hinged doors they do not require room to swing. They can be manually operated, simply gliding on a track with latches to keep them open or closed, or they can be operated by air or electric mechanisms. Having them custom built sounds like an easy prospect, but the bigger issue is if the coach is built with accomodations for pocket doors. A door and its hardware is likely easy to get, but the coach has to have “pockets” into which the door can be stored in the open position. That has to be built into the coach.
