  • Cruse air

Well getting ready for summer and checking out the Cruse air I find that the bedroom unit shows HI PS, so after investigation I find that the compressor fan is not working, it could be a start capacitor or just a bad motor, I will try a start capacitor first and go from there. HOWEVER the starboard unit when turned on will lite then go off and repeat the same thing over and over. I have tried to reset it to factory setting’s but it does no good. Any suggestions ? I live in northern Wisconsin and wonder if anyone knows of a place that service’s Cruse air units around the area.

Looking for any help you can offer .

    Thanks Darrell

Geo Prentice told me a couple of years ago that there is a guy at Hanna Trailer Repair and RV in Oak Creek that had experience on Cruise-Airs while working on Burger Yachts in Manitowoc. Geo might chime in and comment. But that’s still a long ways for you.

How close are you to Superior/Duluth. Try calling a yacht repair company in one of those towns. While I understand yachts typically use water to air Cruise-Airs, you might find someone willing to work on an air to air CA.

Another option is to call PC advertiser:

    AAP
    Fred 804-633-9454
16388 Industrial Dr. Milford, VA 22514
    sales@aap.com

Find out from Fred who he sells parts to in Wisconsin, the UP, or Minnesota.

Thanks Dick, I am close to Superior so I will do some calling around to some boat dealers. I can drive to Chicago but it’s about a 7 hour drive. We are at Hiawatha camp ground in Woodruff. I will let you know if I find a service center.

    Thanks Darrell

I don’t think you will find anyone here in the Duluth area who will know about or want to work on air cooled Cruise Air units. I would just call Bill at Liberty and go there. You will likely save yourself time in the long run.

    Thanks Mark

It probably is best to go to Liberty and forget spending all that time looking around and getting nowhere. A call to Bill is on the top of my list

    Thanks

Darrell, If worse comes to worse….I have a re-conditioned unit with a new compressor, filled with nitrogen and ready to go with me and I’m in Milwaukee for the summer. If Bill at Liberty in North Chicago can’t help you, you might consider a ride to Vonore,Tn. Geo.

Thanks I will contact Bill, also thanks for the offer of your compressor if it comes to that. I hope it is as simple as a start run capacitor ,but as we know it is not often that simple.

    Thanks Darrell

We are currently looking for a newer coach and one of the few deal breakers on a new coach is it having cruisairs. No more, ever! Just not worth the cost and effort when roof airs can be replaced in a matter of minutes for lots less money and by nearly anyone, anywhere.

Good luck with your repairs. I wish you the best.
