I’m new here and my wife and I bought a Marathon 40 xl a few months ago and we are replacing all 3 cruiseair compressors and evaporators in our 96 Marathon 40 xl, they all worked but very loud. We have a 99 45 duel slide Newell which we did the conversion a couple years ago and want that same performance and comfort and are going back with LG smart inverter technology and 3 evaporators one duct unit and 2 wall mount just about the same system we have in our Newell.

The first step was to shut all the service valves and evacuate the lines then remove the compressors, in doing so I found the low and high side coming from the engine dash air unit and the low side line was loose so I replaced low and high side O rings with the new O rings made for r134, pulled a vacuum on the system and its been a couple days and still at 28 hg vacuum, I guess when they converted it to r134 those O rings were impossible to get to.

Second step was to relocate all the plumbing for the bus heating system, found the valves in the manual and shut them then drained about 7 gallons of antifreeze from the lines.

After relocating all the lines and moving some pneumatic components out of the way I did some measurements and found the first step down from inside the bus to be a perfect place for a hatch to access all the electrical and plumbing on the bulkhead. I will put the corian back but with the ability to remove it easy for access.

Being a very tight fit I made a mock up compressor to the exact size of the unit we are using and put it in the area where the compressor is going then measured and cut out the floor to allow water to drain out when in heating mode and also it allows me to tilt the compressor into position.

I want to apologise ahead of time my mind works in different ways than most and writing and grammar are NOT my specialties.
