  • CruiseAir Freon type

Posted by Richard on April 15, 2026 at 8:21 pm

I recently bought a Marathon coach and one of the a/c’s are needing a charge, but I don’t know what freon is in it? Can someone guide me here please?

    Thanks

The units will be marked. It is most likely R22

You likely want to replace R22 gas with one that is currently “available”. R22 is stupid expensive and not readily available. There are equally effective replacement gases but it requires a complete fluid change. Even so it will be much cheaper and way more environmentally friendly. I think I used R422 but not 100% sure I remember that correctly.

When you did the replacement, what o-rings did you change out on the CruiseAir? I am just trying to get a heads up on where to access. I know the schrader valves need to be replaced, but do I need to take other lines apart elsewhere?

      Thank you
