Cruise air Heat to toe kick heat
Posted by Jim on December 11, 2019 at 9:31 pmCruise air “heat pump” in the bedroom will “change over to Toe kick” when the temp drops to below 40. and the fan does not blow.
The Galley cruise air on Heat pump, will change to toe kick-But the fan continues to blow until I turn of the dash switch.
I do not see anything in the manual “settings” for fan other than
continuous or intermittent .
any one no the secret?

On a Marathon the continuous setting the fan will continue to run after reaching temperature.
On intermittent the fan will shut off after reaching temperature.

Thanks Bernie, That part I got. it is the toekick change over that is different, would like to make the Galley work the same as bedroom.
A little more detail, when I select (push twice) for toekick heat in the galley, the fan will come on also ,unless I turn off the dash switch.
In the bedroom I can select toekick, ( and do not have to turn off the dash switch( fan does not come on).

Jim,
I’m lost why you would let it change over by itself, I don’t know of any system that would do it by itself.
Only thing I can think of is start (plugged in) with the toe kick heaters alone and go to heat pumps and see what happens.
BA had a 2000, maybe he can shead light on this.
Start each zone separately and see what you get.
Also what 2 zones are on the inverters?

Like Bernie said, intermittent fan setting shuts the fan off went heat or cool has reached it’s set temp. Also, assume you don’t have the fan set on manual.

I have BA’s 2000, it will not automatically switch. Here’s how it works, 110v heat switch on will run the toekicks controlled by the SMX. The heatpumps need to have the corresponding zones turned on in the front console also controlled by the SMX. You can run both at the same time, I have the heatpumps set on intermittent so the fans will shut down when it comes up to temp.
I hardly use either one though, the wabasto does a MUCH better job of heating.

Bernie, the Queen’s on the move, should be in the desert around the first of the year for a couple of weeks.

Jim, on my 99 Marathon the SMX thermostat runs the cruise a/c and the heat pump portion of the cruise air. For my Webasto to run I have to hit the 12/v heat button in the bedroom, for the toe kick heater to run I have to hit the 110/ v heat button in the bedroom. The strange part is that I have a second thermostat beside each SMX controller, its an old style turn dial mechanical thermostat, I can have both the 110 and 12 volt heat buttons pushed and both the Webasto and toe kicks will run at the same time and both will shut down at set temperature.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, to all.
sounds like it is the exception, to the rule.
I have done all the suggestions when I first got the coach, as far as the Galley. never had to change the Bedroom, and I am going to leave well enough alone;)
It is a “very nice feature ” for North Texas weather.
