Cruise air fan
Posted by Jim on December 25, 2018 at 5:17 pmMy galley cruise air fan comes on as soon as heat or cool is selected.
before the thermostat calls for heat or air. Even “blows” when 110V heat is selected ,and will blow “fast” when the thermostat calls for heat.
Any suggestions? Is it just a control programming error?

If your Cruiseair fan is set to Continuous instead of Intermittent, the evaporator fan will run anytime it’s on. I always changed mine to Intermittent so the fan would shut off when temp is reached.
Go to Video’s of Interest and on page 4 is my video on how to change the SMX fan setting.

Well, l’ll be damned, learn something new every day.

Big Thank You, I assumed it was something like that , just did not know what to look for.
The road goes on forever and the party (learning) never ends;)

Tom, I also read in another post ,a link to Marine Cruise Air, that says if heat and cool are pushed together, the unit will select which ever is required. I tried and both “lights” stay on. is this a marine only feature, or or all units the same?
Will be great for Texas weather, when 30 in the morning and 80 in the afternoon.
Thanks again.

Copied and pasted from p.11 of the link I mentioned before:
Continuous Or Intermittent Fan (Factory set: Continuous)
You can select continuous fan operation or instruct the fan to cycle on and off with the system compressor.
To select continuous or intermittent fan:
• Enter the programming mode: Press OFF. Press SET. • Press DOWN, FAN and UP simultaneously.• Use the UP or DOWN key to select C (continuous) or I (intermittent).• Press OFF to exit the programming mode.Note If you select intermittent fan operation, you may have to relocate the thermistor from the return air duct to an inside wall for best results. Check with your dealer or call the Cruisair Applications Department for more information

Dan, go look at the video I referenced above.
Jim, yes it will do both cold/heat.

Tom, still have one other problem.
When I select 110v Heat( toe kick) the the evaporator fan will come on when the heater comes on.
any idea for a solution for that?

If you single tap the heat button, you get Cruiseair heat pump providing your dash AC switch is on. If you double tap the heat button, (light slowly blinks) you then have Webasto and kick heater action depending on your !2v heat or 120v heat button position.
If your Cruiseair fan is coming on when it’s not suppose to, turn off the dash AC power switch for that unit.
