Cruise air cycles on and off every 30 seconds
I have been having problems with both OTR and Cruise air# 2 for the past few months. Just to update, Charlotte Marine and RV in Port Charlotte Fl, is NOT a place I would recommend.
They have had my coach for a total of 4 weeks (in 2 separate sessions) the second time was for them to fix what they said they fixed the first time…….OTR and Cruise Air #2………. Now they claim to have finally fixed OTR, I am picking it up tomorrow , we’ ll see if it works longer than 2 days this time.
They are unable to repair the Cruise air unit , it works but keeps kicking on and off. I have a copy of the manual and it tells me a faulty high pressure switch is the cause. The real problem is this control switch (SA3 series, it has 2 knobs and a slider) is no longer in production and no one has it in stock, so perhaps one of you may have one laying around or know where I could find one. I could replace it myself at that point. Thank you for your input.

You might give Fred at Aap a call… these folks know everything about Cruisairs… I have 2 numbers you can try… 804-633-9494 or 804-380-5916.. website is http://www.aap.com ( I think ) .

We found Transport AC when we were in Ft Myers. They are CruisAir and Carrier specialists. They replaced our OTR compressor seal and found and repaired the leak in one of our CruisAirs.
Since your right there where he is, I suggest you give them a call. I was very satisfied with their work.

I seem to be beating on this drum a lot lately, but I have found that anytime I have a problem I cannot solve the first place I go for information or advice is the manufacturer. Whether it is a Prevost, converter, or part problem the best advice is most likely to come from the folks that know the product best.
Even if the first phone call to the manufacturer does not solve the problem or answer the question it almost always provides a recommendation for the best place to get service.
A whole lot of money and time is wasted taking a problem to folks who really are not experts in dealing with the problem.
John Klopp may spank me for opining on this but shooting from the lip I would guess 30 second cycling suggests a freon charge issue. Without knowing what the gauges are showing this is a shot in the dark.

It was freon (low) on front Cruise air unit that cycled ours.

As usual you are correct. A spanking would be good, but as I understood, Tom is master at arms or perhapse primary spanker.

The freon has been recharged and it is still doing it. It could be a faulty high pressure switch according to the diagnostics page in the Cruise air manual and the RV “repair” place. Since mine has the older 2 knob and a slider control panel it cannot be replaced as that part is obsolete it will have to be updated to the newer control panel assembly.
I am taking the coach to Transport AC in Fort Myers tomorrow, hopefully they will have the solution.
