Cruisair
More Cruisair insanity. Yesterday turned the galley unit on and evaporator fan came on and runs continuously like it always does. But no cooling. Tried heat mode and no heat. Go to condenser unit and compressor (and fan) not coming on. Click heard intermittently and compressor shudders very slightly for a split second and condenser fan rotates a few degrees – then nothing. Have 110 to the unit. Pull out run and start capacitors and test. Test ok. Test power to compressor. Zip. Can’t tell where click is coming from. There are a couple of relays in the wiring circuit that I am clueless about. The one called “solid state relay” has 110 on one side and the other side never has any output that I can measure before, during, or after clicking. Nothing measurable anywhere on the other one which wiring diagram calls “start relay”. Amp readings never present so at least not getting locked rotor high amp stuff. Static system pressure was 115 on 80 degree day which is low so wondered about low pressure switch. Deleted it from circuit and no change.
All this doesn’t act like the bad compressor stuff that I have had before. Getting ready to replace the start and run capacitors and both relays and see what happens. Any thoughts? Mike
